Captain R.N.R. (retired) Frank Percival Swinney, R.N.R. (24 August, 1879 – 11 August, 1954) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Swinney was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 5 October, 1909.[1]

Swinney was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 5 October, 1917 while serving in the battleship Temeraire. He left the ship in Mrch/April, 1918 and became a Commodore of COnvoys in the Mediterranean. He was demobilised on 30 May, 1919.[2]

Swinney was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1921.[3]

Swinney was placed on the Retired List on 7 October 1926 and promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 31 December, 1926.[4]

World War II

In 1948, he reported that he considered himself fit for shore service at home. He was retired and living in Cornwall.[5]
