Commander R.N.R. (retired) Charles Nelson Croysdale (8 December, 1884 – 25 March, 1944) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Croysdale was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 January, 1916. He was appointed to the battleship Royal Sovereign on 18 April, 1916 and fought in her at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

Croysdale was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Macedonia as navigating officer on 8 October, 1917. He sailed for England in Amazon on 21 January, 1918. On 30 March, he was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 025.[2][3]

Croysdale was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1924.[4]

Croysdale was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 16 June, 1927.[5]
