Commander R.N.R. (retired) Ernest Harold Large (26 February, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. I presume that Vincent Claud Large, who also served in the R.N.R., was his younger brother.

Life & Career

Large was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1916. He was appointed to the armoured cruiser Donegal on 3 June, 1916. He would be logged by the captain of the ship for "disrespect" at some time before being appointed to another (illegible) posting in late August. On 18 September, 1916 he was appointed to the destroyer Arun.[1]

Large left Arun when he was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 33 on 28 June, 1917.[2]

He was demobilised on 25 April, 1919.[3]

Large was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1924.

Large was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 26 February, 1929.
