Vice-Admiral (retired) Thomas Cochran, ( – 4 June, 1889) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Cochran was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 27 August, 1844.

Cochran was promoted to the rank of Commander on 21 February, 1851.

Cochran was promoted to the rank of Captain on 2 May, 1857.

In February 1860, the Board of Admiralty expressed its dissatisfaction with the "defective state" of the Template:UK-2Amphion, and especially the punishments meted out on board.

Cochran was placed on the Retired list on 16 June 1874 and was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 20 April, 1875.

Cochran was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 2 August, 1879.
