Engineer Vice-Admiral SIR Frederick Richard Gordon Turner, K.C.B., O.B.E. (29 March, 1889 – 9 February, 1976) [1] served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Turner was awarded the Newman Memorial Prize for scoring highest in the Examination in Practical Engineering held on the completion of his original course of specialising in Engineering.

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Lieutenant on 1 February, 1910.

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Lieutenant-Commander on 28 January, 1918.

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Commander on 31 December, 1923.

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Captain on 31 December, 1933.

World War II

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Rear-Admiral on 11 September, 1939.

Turner was promoted to the rank of Engineer Vice-Admiral on 23 March, 1942.

Placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 26 April, 1945.
