Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Edward John Dawes, D.S.C., R.N.R. (29 April, 1888 – 27 October, 1918) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Dawes was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 19 June, 1915 and appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Carmania.[1]

On 22 August, 1916, Template:UK-Epson and Melton collided and Dawes received a severe caution.[2]

Dawes was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 19 June, 1917.[3]

While still in command of the Template:UK-Epson, Dawes passed away from an unstated illness on 27 October, 1918.[4]
