Lieutenant-Commander John Patrick Wisden, (14 October, 1901 – 29 August, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Wisden served in the battleship Hercules from late September 1917 until being appointed to H.M.S. Ramillies on 12 February, 1919. He would serve in her until November.
Wisden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1923.
Wisden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1931.
World War II
Wisden died after suffering wounds he sustained during the bombing of his command, Bulldog in August, 1940.
