Captain Alan Brodrick Thomas, C.B. (24 February, 1844 – 17 August, 1894) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 September, 1865.[1]

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Commander on 25 March, 1878.[2]

Thomas was promoted to the rank of Captain on 11 July, 1881.[3]

He was appointed in command of the second class battleship Trafalgar on 2 April, 1890.[4]

Thomas was granted one month's leave to return to England to shake off a fever on 7 September, 1891. This leave was extended a fortnight. He was invalided from his appointment in command of Trafalgar for diabetes on 27 January, 1892. He would not be found fit before June, but it was thought best to restrict him to Home stations.[5]
