Commander (retired) George Arthur Coxall Sharp, D.S.C. (2 August, 1891 – ) served in the Royal Navy. One of his Service Records notes his name as George Arthur Charles Sharp.

Life & Career

The son of George Sharp, Esq., a merchant.[1]

Sharp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 April, 1913.[2]

He was awarded the Russian Order of St. Anne Third Class for sinking ten ships in the Baltic.

After handing over command of E 54, he was appointed to the super-dreadnought Malaya on 23 May 1919 where he served until being placed on the Retired List with a gratuity on 19 April, 1920. He was then granted permission to reside in British East Africa.[3]

Sharp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 30 April, 1921.[4]

Sharp was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 2 August, 1933.[5]
