Commander Bernhard Alexander Pratt-Barlow, R.N. (12 September, 1874 – 15 October, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Though he took the entrance exam with the candidates of January, 1889, Pratt-Barlow joined Britannia on 15 July, 1889.
Pratt-Barlow was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1897.
Pratt-Barlow was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1908.
Pratt-Barlow commanded destroyers from 1903 to early 1905.
A brief appointment in command of the battleship Hannibal was followed by a temporary appointment to join the first class protected cruiser Hawke on 26 January, 1914. It proved extensive enought that Pratt-Barlow died when Hawke was torpedoed on 15 October, 1914.
