Rear-Admiral Ronald Wolseley Oldham, O.B.E. (21 July, 1887 – ?) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born the son of Colonel F. G. Oldham.
Oldham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1908.[1]
Oldham served as Gunnery Officer in Irresistible from 8 January, 1913 until the ship was lost on 18 March, 1915.
Oldham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1916.[2]
He transferred to Inflexible and fought in her at the Battle of Jutland. On 31 August, 1918, he moved to Tiger, being reappointed there on 31 December, 1919 when he was promoted to Commander. He left the ship on 27 September, 1920.[3]
Oldham was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December 1925 (or 1923?).[4]
On 15 June, 1929, he was appointed to the heavy cruiser Shropshire to be her first commanding officer upon her commissioning. He left her in September, 1931.[5]
Oldham was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 11 January, 1938.[6]
