Thomas McMahon (25 May, 1874 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

McMahon was appointed to the Royal Navy on 15 May, 1901.[1]

McMahon was granted the acting rank of Gunner on 1 May, 1906 and was confirmed in the rank on 27 July, 1907.

He was appointed to T.B. 052 on 16 August, 1913[2] and remained in her until being appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 055 on 31 March, 1914.[3]

On 8 May 1917, McMahon went to Vernon for a Paravane course. On 15 June, he was appointed to Canada for torpedo duties.

McMahon was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 13 September, 1918.

Post-War

McMahon was appointed from Canada to Vernon for command of the trawler Richard Briscoll in July 1919. From there, he was appointed in command of H.M.T. Stratloe from 11 December 1919 to 27 February, 1922.

McMahon was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Lieutenant on 1 July, 1922.

World War II

McMahon would be re-appointed to naval service in 1943 with the rank of Lieutenant.[4]

Reverted to the Retired List at his own request on 22 October, 1944.
