Commander (retired) Alan Hugh Hillgarth, C.M.G., O.B.E. (7 June, 1899 – 1978) served in the Royal Navy. He was born George Hugh Jocelyn Evans.

Life & Career

Wartime service in Bacchante, Wolverine, Princess Royal, Lily and Valerian.

Hillgarth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 17 December, 1919.

He retired around 1923.

Hillgarth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 17 December, 1927.

Hillgarth was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 September, 1945.
