Commander Frederick William Hayden, D.S.C., C.B.E. (11 September, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Beverley, York, Hayden worked as a gardener before joining the Navy.[1]

He emerged from H.M.S. Ganges in 1913 and spent most of the Great War in Portsmouth with some time in Edgar and Iron Duke early in the war.[2]

World War II

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1939.[3]

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1947.[4]

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1951.[5]
