Commander Malcolm Farquhar, (10 November, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Rear Admiral Arthur M. Farquhar, C.V.O..

Farquhar was appointed to the battlecruiser Indefatigable from 15 January 1914 to 8 February, 1916. He then served in the sweeping sloop Wallflower until 22 March, 1917.

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1917.[1]

He served in the destroyer Nepean from 27 May to 22 November, 1917, and then in the destroyer Tower from 4 December 1917 to 4 February, 1919.[2]

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1925. In 1926 he was qualified as a Naval Observer.[3]

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1931.[4]

World War II

Placed on the Retired List on account of age on 10 November, 1945. Reverted to the Retired List on 30 June 1946.[5]

Admitted to Haslar Hospital on 30 April, 1956 with multiple injuries sustained in a road accident. He was discharged to his home on 19 May.[6]
