Lieutenant Alfred Douglas Douglas-Hamilton, R.N. (6 March, 1862 – ) served in the Royal Navy until he declined to join his ship shortly after being made Lieutenant.

Life & Career

Douglas-Hamilton could speak French and some Swahili.

Douglas-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1885.

Douglas-Hamilton had his name removed from the List on 26 November, 1889 when he declined to join (or perhaps to re-join) Australia after being lent to command T.B. 65 in the annual manoeuvres ending in September.
