Lieutenant-Commander William Alexander Keith Napier Cavaye, (20 April, 1906 – 13 February, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Cavaye was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 December, 1929.[1]
Cavaye was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 December, 1937.[2]
World War II
Cavaye commanded five submarines during the war, and died in command of Tempest when she was sunk by Italian destroyers.
