Commander John Prescott Burton, R.N., Retired (26 July, 1890 – 22 May, 1954) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Burton entered the Navy as it was transitioning to the new training scheme for cadets and was sent directly to the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth as part of the September 1905 intake term.
Burton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1911.
Burton was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 27 on 29 July, 1914.[1]
Post-War
Burton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1919.
Burton was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 4 August, 1933.
