Commander Myles Aldington Blomfield, O.B.E., R.N. (16 June, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Pilkington.
Blomfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1906 and lent for duty under Australian government.[1]
Blomfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1914.
On 1 December 1915, he was ill, and thought to likely to be unready for sea service for six months.
On 15 December 1916, he was admitted to Haslar Hospital with colitis. On 9 January, he was placed in charge of Boom Defence at the Tyne. On 22 March, he was appointed in command of the sweeping sloop Snapdragon, in which he remained until being appointed to President for special service as Commodore of Convoy as an acting Commander.
Blomfield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1919.
World War II
On 15 October 1940, he was appointed in command of the yacht Viva II vice Humber.
