Captain (retired) Walter Vernon Anson, (3 October, 1855 – ) served in the Royal Navy. His older brother, Algernon Horatio Anson, became a Rear-Admiral.
Life & Career
Walter drew well and spoke French. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 June, 1880.
Anson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1894.
Anson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 6 February, 1902.
In 1904, the Admiralty expressed its displeasure that Anson had written directly to the King's Private Secretary.
