Captain (retired) Thomas Charles Smyth, (19 April, 1868 – 2 May, 1929) served in the Royal Navy in the Dreadnought Era.
Life & Career
Born in Durrington, Amesbury, the son of General H. Smyth.[1]
Having obtained four first-class certificates, Smyth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 13 April, 1889.[2]
Smyth was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1901.[3]
Smyth was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 7 July, 1908.[4]
Died at Haslar Hospital of hemiplegia at 9.55pm 2 May, 1929.[5]
