Vice-Admiral George David Archibald Gregory, D.S.O.*, C.B., K.B.E., R.N. (8 October, 1909 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 16 October, 1932.[1]
World War II
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 16 October, 1940.[2]
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1942.[3]
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1951.[4]
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 January, 1960.[5]
Gregory was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 8 March, 1963.[6]
Retired on 24 August, 1966.[7]
