Commander (retired) Desmond Adair Stride (22 December, 1890 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve who transferred into the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In recognition of his gallantry in action, Stride was transferred into the Royal Navy from the R.N.R. to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 November, 1916. This date was later altered to 1 November 1916.[1]

Stride was appointed in command of the patrol boat P50 on 8 April, 1918.[2]

Stride was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 November, 1922.[3]

Stride was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 22 December, 1933.[4]

World War II

Work with trawlers and at Dover. Reverted to Retired List on 27 September 1945.[5]
