Captain Raymond Maurice Trevelyan Taylor, C.B.E., (1 April, 1899 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain A. T. Taylor, R.N., British Consul, Cape Verde.

Taylor served in Cæsar, Thunderer, P54 and Wolfhound during the war. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1919.[1]

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1927.[2]

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1933.[3]

World War II

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1941.[4]

Taylor commanded the escort carrier Nairana from 31 August, 1943 to 28 July, 1944.[5]

Taylor was placed on the Retired List on 7 July, 1950.[6]

He was reverted to the Retired List on 6 July, 1954.[7]
