Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Cecil James Tyler, ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Appointed to the sweeping sloop Marigold on 22 June, 1916. On 24 March 1917, he took on navigation duties in Marigold.[1]

Tyler was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 May, 1918.[2]

He was in poor health, being removed from his first command appointment and hospitalised in Yorkshire. On 5 October, 1919, he was evaluated as average but "lacking in character." Suffering from a recurrent inguinal hernia on the left side, his name was removed from the Navy List in accordance with Article 141[?] of the R.N.R. Regulations.[3]
