Captain Harold Douglas Briggs, C.M.G. (29 September, 1877 – 13 September, 1944) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Briggs was the son of a Colonel.
Briggs was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1899.
Briggs was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1911.[1]
On 30 June, 1917, Briggs was promoted to the rank of Captain, and as Wing Captain.
Post-War
He was appointed command of the battleship St. Vincent on 18 July, 1919.[2]
In 1920, he was appointed in command of Resolution as Flag Captain to the Rear-Admiral in the First Battle Squadron.
Briggs was placed on the Retired List at his own request 1 July, 1922.
