Commander (retired) John Drinkwater, O.B.E. (22 April, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In 1914, Drinkwater transferred to the Supplementary List of the Royal Navy from the Royal Naval Reserve.[1]

Drinkwater was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 June, 1915.

Drinkwater was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 June, 1923.

Having last served at sea in Ramillies, Drinkwater was appointed in command of the new "L" Class submarine L 27 when she was finally commissioned in 1925.[2]

Drinkwater was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 March, 1933.
