Captain Evelyn William Shirley, (30 November, 1840 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Shirley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 17 April, 1862.
Shirley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 4 June, 1877. In September 1879 he meted out severe punishment in the armoured ram Belleisle which the Admiralty deemed "injudicious".
Shirley was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 7 December, 1887.
