Rear-Admiral Royer Mylius Dick, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.C., (14 October, 1897 – 23 April, 1991) was an officer in the Royal Navy. He specialised in signals.
Life & Career
Promoted to Lieutenant on 15 November, 1918.[1]
Dick spoke French and was an acting interpreter in 1920.[2]
On 3 May, 1924, he was made Flag Lieutenant to Boyle and Squadron Signal officer.
On 15 November, 1926, he was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander.[3]
Married Agens Mary Harben on 3 November, 1928 at St. Paul's Church in Knightbridge.[4]
Dick was promoted to Commander on 30 June, 1933.[5]
Dick was appointed in command of the B-class destroyer Basilisk on 2 August, 1938.[6]
World War II
He was promoted to Captain on 30 June, 1940.[7]
Promoted to Rear-Admiral on the retired list on 8 July, 1949.[8]
Dick was close friends with Admiral Cunningham and the American General and later President Eisenhower.
