Admiral SIR William Rudolph Slayter, K.C.B., D.S.O., D.S.C. (13 February, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1917. This was later adjusted to 15 April, 1917.
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1925.
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1930.
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1937.
World War II
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 January, 1947.
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 August, 1950.
Slayter was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 September, 1953.
Shortly after recovering at Haslar Hospital from a bout of dysentery, Slater was placed on the Retired List on 16 December 1954.
