Tone's Fighting Ships is a website devoted to providing a source of reference for the capital ships of the Dreadnought Era, as well as general information about the navies themselves; their ships, the equipment on board them, who commanded them and how they were administered.

The name of the website is derived from the nickname of the Webmaster and editor, Tony Lovell in thankful homage to the hallowed Janes Information Group, an edition of whose "Jane's Fighting Ships" was vital in fueling his interest in the subject of naval history.

Simon Harley has edited this Wiki, and been instrumental in creating a strong pattern of excellence we hope will prove inviting to well-informed contributors and readers who desire detailed information.
