H.M. T.B. 70 was one of ten second-class torpedo boats of the T.B. 64 class.

Service

Upon her completion in 1881, she was sent to the masted turret ship Inflexible.[7] At her trials on the measured mile, 130 pounds of steam produced 16.7 knots. This performance exceeded contractual requirements to the degree that Thornycroft earned a £700 bonus.[8]
