Commander Frederick Crosby Halahan, C.M.G., M.V.O., D.S.O., R.N. (27 May, 1880 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of a Colonel. Halahan was convicted of bullying other cadets aboard H.M.S. Britannia, requiring a special report to be forwarded.
Halahan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1900.
It was initially reported that Halahan would take command of the destroyer Opossum for the Annual Manoeuvres of 1904,[1] but Lieutenant George Piercy Leith's Service Record and other newspaper reports make it clear that Leith actually took command.
Halahan was appointed to the old turret ship H.M.S. Dreadnought for gunnery from 1 September 1906 to 26 August, 1907.
Halahan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1908.
He was granted the acting rank of Wing Commander with seniority of 6 May 1915 and presently was promoted to the same rank with the same seniority.
Halahan was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1917.
On 1 August 1919 he was granted a permanent commission as a Group Captain, R.A.F..
