Admiral Alexander Plantagenet Hastings, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (31 October, 1844 – 7 December, 1925) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hastings commanded the armoured frigate Black Prince in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1890. His ship was part of Fleet Number 1 playing the role of the Royal Navy fending off attacks on British trade routes.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1894.[2]

Hastings was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 21 March, 1900, vice Lord Walter Kerr.[3]

He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 16 June, 1904.[4]
