H.M.S. C 5 was one of thirty-eight "C" class coastal submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

C 5 arrived in Sheerness in company with the torpedo gunboat Hebe on 27 April, 1914.[5]

Arrived in Sheerness with C 2 and C 6, also assigned to the Fifth Submarine Flotilla, on 28 May, 1914.[6]
