H.M.S. L 14 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In late 1920, she was one of two "L" class vessels in submarine reserve group "M" at Portland, tender to Lucia.[6]

In March, 1925 she, L 17 and L 18 comprised Group "M" Submarines in Reserve at Portland under the command of Lieutenant-Commander Henry N. Lake.[7]

In early 1929, she and L 17 comprised Group "M" submarines in Reserve at Portsmouth under the collective command of Lieutenant-Commander Alexander Scrope Hutchinson, who'd been appointed on 15 November, 1928.[8] This group remained intact until at least mid-1931.[9]
