Captain (retired) Charles William Stares Leggatt, C.B.E., R.N. (5 August, 1864 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Leggatt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1887.
Leggatt was appointed in command of the destroyer Ferret on 12 February, 1896.[1]
Leggatt was promoted to the rank of Commander in 1899.
Leggatt was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 April, 1911.
On 1 August 1914, appointed as Divisional Naval Transport Officer, Liverpool. On 24 May 1915, he moved from there to work on the Naval Transport Staff at Devonport.
On 31 October 1918, he was appointed Divisional Naval Transport Officer, Devonport. His appointment here entered on 15 November, 1919.
