Vice-Admiral (retired) Cyril St. Clair Cameron, C.B.E., R.N. (22 July, 1879 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia the son of retired Colonel A. S. Cameron, Cyril gained eleven months' time on passing out of Britannia in mid 1895.

Cameron was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1901.

Cameron was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.

Cameron was appointed as executive officer in Agamemnon from 1 February, 1914 until 27 January, 1917, when he was appointed in command of an illegible ship and as assistant to Captain in Charge of Minesweepers for a flotilla.

Appointed in command of the minesweeper Whitby Abbey and as assistant to Captain in Charge of Minesweepers for torpedo duties from 25 June 1917 until 9 March, 1918.

Cameron was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1918.

Cameron was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 April, 1930.

Cameron was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 19 July, 1935.
