Admiral SIR Richard Poore, Fourth Baronet, K.C.B., Royal Navy (7 July, 1853 – 8 December, 1930) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 9 March, 1876.

Poore was promoted to the rank of Commander on 4 February, 1885.[1]

Captain

Poore was promoted to the rank of Captain on 13 May, 1890.[2]

Poore was appointed to Vivid on 9 March, 1900, for command of the Royal Naval Barracks and as Flag Captain.[3] He was appointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp to King Edward VII on 16 June, 1901, vice Metaxa.[4]

Flag Rank

Poore was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 30 August, 1903, vice Holland.[5]

Poore was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 March, 1907, vice Aldrich.[6]

He was appointed Commander-in-Chief at the Nore on 29 August, 1911.[7] He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 17 July, vice Dyke Acland.[8]

Poore was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 3 April, 1917.[9]
