Captain (retired) Frederick Claude Hynman Allenby, C.B.E., R.N. (21 September, 1864 – 1 August, 1934) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Felixstow.

Allenby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 24 August, 1887.

Allenby appointed to Scylla ib 28 May, 1896. While in this appointment, he was Court Martialed on 9 August, 1897 for striking a Petty Officer. He was severely reprimanded and dismissed the ship.

Allenby was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1900.

Allenby was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 24 December, 1909.

In a marginal state of health, Allenby would work in the Transport Service in Liverpool during the Great War. On 10 May, 1919 it was decided that he would revert to the Retired List on 24 May.
