Admiral SIR Herbert Goodenough King-Hall, K.C.B., C.V.O., D.S.O., LL.D., Royal Navy (15 March, 1862 – 20 October, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
For services rendered during the operations in Egypt, King-Hall was specially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 18 November, 1882.[1]
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1895.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1900.[3]
King-Hall was appointed Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence on 31 March, 1905.[4]
Flag Rank
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 22 June, 1909, vice Tillard.[5]
King-Hall was appointed Commander-in-Chief on the Cape of Good Hope Station on 28 December, 1912, and assumed command on 22 January, 1913.[6]
Great War
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 5 March, 1915, vice Jellicoe.[7]
On 1 January, 1916, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[8]
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Admiral, vice Brock, on 25 August, 1918.[9]
Post-War
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 May, 1922.[10]
