Commander (retired) St. Andrew Oliver St. John, D.S.O., R.N. (18 March, 1882 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire.

St. John was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1902.

St. John was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1911.

St. John was appointed in command of the monitor M.23 on 1 June, 1916,[1] and remained in her through the end of the war. He was awarded his D.S.O. for "distinguised and gallant services in command of M23 in Russia", gazetted 12 December, 1919.

St. John was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 9 September, 1920 and promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 18 March, 1922.
