Captain Thomas Francis Tregoye Michell, R.N. (8 November, 1872 – 1 September, 1942) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Gained eight months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Michell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 May, 1894.
Michell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1903.
Michell was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1910.
Michell was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Terrible on 6 December, 1913.[1]
Suffering from neurasthenia and perhaps rattled by a Court of Inquiry into ammunition in Terrible which had been damaged by flooding, Michell was retired as unfit on 24 February, 1915, but he was called up for some work with the Naval Secretary from 10 September through 26 October, 1918. he was reverted to the Retired List on 9 January, 1919.
