Captain (retired) Henry James Daniel Laxton, R.N. (1 June, 1855 – 8 July, 1937) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Laxton possessed some knowledge of French and Spanish.
Laxton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 27 February, 1879.
Laxton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1896.
An inspection of Nymphe on 28 November, 1900 found the ship not clean and the ship's company badly dressed, necessitating a follow-up inspection in three months' time.
Laxton was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Captain on 1 June, 1905.
