Captain (retired) John Lanison Field (1 August, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy. It is possible that his middle name was spelled "Lainson", as it appears in one service record.
Life & Career
Field was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1906.
Field was appointed Lieutenant & Commander of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 052 on 7 September, 1911.[1]
Field was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1914.[2]
Field was appointed in command of the destroyer Winchester on 5 April, 1918.[3]
Field was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1918.
Post-War
On 25 August, 1920, Field was appointed in command of the destroyer Vesper.[4]
Field was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 January, 1923.
Field was promoted to the rank of Captain on the Retired List on 1 August, 1929.
