Life & Career
On the night of 23/24 October, 1944, Oldendorf used skill and crushing technological and numerical superiority to destroy Nishimura Shōji's task force in the Battle of Surigao Strait, becoming the last Admiral to win a class battleship-on-battleship gunnery duel.
