Admiral Leonard Andrew Boyd Donaldson, C.B., C.M.G. (1 August, 1875 – 28 June, 1956) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
Donaldson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1898.[1]
Great War
In the King's Birthday Honours of 3 June, 1918, Donaldson was appointed a Companion in the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G.).[2]
Flag Rank
Donaldson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 March, 1926.[3]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 23 May, 1930, vice Waistell.[4] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 8 May, 1935.[5]
Donaldson's widow, Nora Caroline, died on 10 October, 1958, at 10 High Street, Fareham, Hants. She was cremated after a service at Fareham Parish Church on 24 October.[6]
