Captain (retired) Roger Leigh Wiles (3 August, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Wiles was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1907.

Wiles was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 065 on 1 August, 1909.[1]

On 28 May, 1914, Lieutenant Wiles was appointed to command the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 036, but was to be borne in Triumph.[2]

Wiles was appointed in command of the destroyer Whiting on 11 August, 1914.[3]

Wiles was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1914.

Post-War

Wiles was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1919.

Wiles was placed on the Retired List at his own request with with the rank of Captain on 29 June, 1933.

World War II

In 1940, Wiles was mentioned in despatches for good service "over a period."
