Vice-Admiral (retired) Robert Woodyear Glennie, C.M.G., (3 November, 1868. – 11 April, 1930) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1890.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1903.[2]

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1913.[3]

He was appointed command of the battleship Glory on 20 July, 1916.[4]

In November 1914, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Charybdis.

Glennie was appointed in command of the Mutine on 15 January, 1919 and commissioned her at Bermuda that June 1st.[5]

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 3 August, 1923.[6]

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 5 April, 1928.[7]

Glennies was buried in Haslar Cemetery on 15 April, 1930.[8]
