Admiral THE RIGHT HONOURABLE Edward Stafford Fitzherbert, Thirteenth Baron Stafford, K.C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (17 April, 1865 – 28 September, 1941) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

At the examination for Naval Cadetships, Fitzherbert placed eleventh out of the successful batch of forty-six.[1]

Great War

On 6 December, 1915, Fitzherbert was appointed Admiral of Minesweeping.[2]

He was appointed to the new position of Director of Torpedoes and Mines on 18 February, 1917.[3] On 1 January, 1918, he was appointed a Companion in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[4]

Fitzherbert was appointed Commander-in-Chief on the Cape of Good Hope Station on 20 May.[5]

Post-War

Fitzherbert was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 27 January, 1920, vice Vaughan-Lee.[6]

He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 17 March, 1925.[7]
